Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) in 2010, Tung Wah College (TWC) is a self-financing degree-granting institution registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320).  Following the educational ideals of TWGHs and leveraging on its renowned strengths and expertise, TWC aims to provide high quality tertiary education to nurture competent, socially responsible and caring professionals for the benefits of society. 

With the staunch support of TWGHs, TWC has been developing rapidly and built up a niche in healthcare education. It is the first self-financing tertiary institution offering six professionally accredited degrees to train nurses and allied health professionals such as medical laboratory technologists, occupational therapists, diagnostic radiographer, therapeutic radiographer and physiotherapists. Besides, the College is also the first institution registered under Cap. 320 offering early childhood education degree and higher diploma programmes to train qualified kindergarten teachers and childcare professionals.

Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) running a total of 20 doctoral degree, bachelor degree, sub-degree, diploma and certificate programmes in various disciplines.  It has a student population of around 5,000 in 2025/2026 and nurtured more than 7,200 graduates since its inception in 2010.

Being a young and vibrant institution, TWC aspires to become a leading private university in the long term.  It is planning to launch a number of new programmes, strengthen teaching and learning facilities and quality, and enhance research capability etc. in coming years.  To cope with its continuous development, we are now inviting highly qualified candidates to fill the following post:

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee’s duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. manage the College network (routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewalls) and infrastructure operations, ensuring stable, secure, and reliable performance;
  2. build site networks and deploy connectivity solutions;
  3. evaluate network conditions, provide recommendations, and ensure resilient, optimal connectivity;
  4. manage, coordinate, and execute IT projects within the College, independently and with vendors;
  5. assist in developing policies and procedures to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations;
  6. implement IT security controls and conduct security operations;
  7. evaluate and recommend IT tools and technologies;
  8. provide after-hours standby/emergency support as needed; and
  9. carry out any additional duties as assigned by the unit head or their delegates.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Applicants should:

  1. possess a recognized bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering, or a related discipline; have at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in tertiary education or public organizations;
  2. demonstrate an in-depth understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPsec/SSL VPN, Spanning Tree, VLAN, OSPF, BGP), wireless technologies, next-generation firewalls, Zero Trust network security, web application firewalls, and monitoring tools;
  3. have knowledge of and solid hands-on experience with H3C switches, Aruba Wi‑Fi, FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, WAF, reverse web proxy, and internet link services;
  4. possess experience building site networks and deploying connectivity solutions;
  5. have experience with cloud connectivity (e.g., Azure, AWS);
  6. hold networking certification(s) such as CCNA or equivalent;
  7. ideally possess hands-on knowledge of IT security principles and tools, such as SIEM, EDR software, and data protection;
  8. preferably hold certifications such as CCNP, PMP/PRINCE2, ITIL, or CISSP/CISM;
  9. be a technically hands-on expert in network infrastructure with strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  10. possess strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills; and
  11. be adaptable, results-oriented, and resourceful, demonstrate strong responsibility, be able to multitask effectively, and work independently while collaborating well.

 

Note: Candidates with less experience may be considered as Information Technology Officer.
